Alderbrook School is delighted to celebrate another year of excellent post-16 results and would like to congratulate all students on their achievements in A Level and vocational qualifications this summer.
Students have achieved an outstanding set of outcomes across a broad range of academic and vocational subjects. This year, 35% of all grades were awarded at A/A*, whilst 69% of grades were awarded at A*-B. An exceptional 88% of all entries achieved A*-C (or equivalent), reflecting the hard work, dedication and ambition of students across the Sixth Form.
There were particularly strong performances in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Business, Economics, Biology and Media Studies, alongside excellent achievements in vocational subjects including Applied Business, Sport and Performing Arts. These results continue Alderbrook’s strong tradition of academic excellence whilst demonstrating the breadth of success across both academic and applied learning pathways.
Students will now progress to a wide variety of exciting destinations, including universities, higher apprenticeships, employment and further professional training. Many students have secured places at highly regarded universities across the country and will pursue courses including Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Law, Psychology, Medicine and the Sciences. We look forward to hearing about their future successes and achievements.
Several students achieved exceptional outcomes, including an impressive 18 students attaining at least three A*/A grades and others securing outstanding combinations of results in both academic and vocational qualifications. Among the many notable successes this year, we would like to extend huge congratulations to Kasuza, who achieved 3 A* grades and is excited to be reading Chemistry at the University of Oxford. He is joined by Ysabel, who achieved 2 A* grades and 2 A grades and will be reading Biochemistry at the University of Oxford.
Alderbrook is a community that recognises the success of all its students, and we would particularly like to acknowledge the achievements of those students who have made significant progress from their KS4 starting point and those who have overcome significant challenges outside of school, yet still achieved outstanding outcomes. Honourable mentions go to Nyah, who achieved 1 A and 2 B grades, and to Cherry, who achieved 3 B grades. Their achievements are representative of a year group that has demonstrated determination, resilience and commitment throughout their time in the Alderbrook Sixth Form.

Above all, these results open doors to exciting futures, and we are delighted that so many students have secured their first-choice destinations. We wish them every success as they move on to university, apprenticeships, employment and the many opportunities that lie ahead.”

I must pay tribute to our outstanding staff, whose dedication and expertise have been instrumental in guiding our students to these excellent outcomes. Special recognition goes to Mrs McNamara, our Learning and Wellbeing Manager, whose tireless support has made such a profound difference to so many of our young people. Her commitment to their pastoral and academic development has been invaluable.

Together, we have helped these young people develop into confident, well-rounded individuals who are ready to take on the next exciting chapter of their lives.
