ANTARCTIC FLAGS

Some of our year 8 Geography students entered their designs in an ‘ANTARCTIC DAY FLAG’ competition in order to celebrate Antarctica Day on the 1st December. The competition was run by the UK Polar Network to educate people on the importance of protecting Antarctica.

The flags travelled to Antarctica with Iain Gordon who is a Mechanical Services Technician. These photographs were taken at Halley VI Research Station which is on the Brunt Ice Shelf.

The two photos include the two winning designs- 1st place was Lucy and 2nd place was Jason.
