ANTARCTIC FLAGS - Alderbrook School

Some of our year 8 Geography students entered their designs in an ‘ANTARCTIC DAY FLAG’ competition in order to celebrate Antarctica Day on the 1^st December. The competition was run by the UK Polar Network to educate people on the importance of protecting Antarctica.

The flags travelled to Antarctica with Iain Gordon who is a Mechanical Services Technician. These photographs were taken at Halley VI Research Station which is on the Brunt Ice Shelf.

The two photos include the two winning designs- 1^st place was Lucy and 2^nd place was Jason.
