Congratulations to our Year 11s who have achieved fantastic GCSE results this year; we are extremely proud of them.
Many students have achieved the very top grades in a range of subjects, while others have demonstrated phenomenal progress in their time at Alderbrook. The success of the students has ensured that the huge majority of them have gained a place at their destinations of choice. A large number have enrolled into Alderbrook Sixth Form and we are delighted that they will remain a part of our school community for the next 2 years. Some students will be leaving Alderbrook to take up exciting opportunities elsewhere at local schools, colleges and businesses.
The 2021 cohort has faced unprecedented challenges over the last 18 months and yet they have shown enormous resilience to continue to strive for very strong outcomes. Special mention goes to Matt, Cobie, Erin, Asiya, Alexandra, Samra, Ali, Saara and Rajan who all achieved a flush of Grades 8s and 9s across their GCSE subjects. Aser, Hector, Hasan and Saarah must also be applauded for achieving phenomenal progress in their time at Alderbrook, and there are many other students who deserve a mention for their brilliant achievements.
Headteacher, Tom Beveridge, said: “We are immensely proud of all the achievements of our students, especially after such a difficult and disrupted period. Students have worked really hard over the last 5 years at Alderbrook and they have truly lived out the school values of Ambition, Bravery and Kindness. This Year 11 cohort is a group of brilliant individual young people who will go on to do great things. Whether staying at Alderbrook or moving onto elsewhere, we wish them all the very best for the future.”
