Virtual Open Evening

Thank you for taking the time to look at the resources on our website.  We hope the videos and information on this page give you a flavour of Alderbrook.

We are incredibly proud of our school and believe that it is a special place for young people to learn, develop and thrive.

Our values of Ambition, Bravery and Kindness, pervade all areas of our school and we are very excited that your child might be joining us in the years to come.

We hope that you enjoy looking through the various items and if we are able to invite you into school later this academic year we will of course make arrangements to do so.

About Alderbrook School

Alderbrook is an 11-18, mixed comprehensive school serving the area of south Solihull. Approximately 250 pupils of all levels of ability are admitted each year with a further 9 places reserved for pupils with Statements of Special Educational Need, for whom the school is additionally staffed and resourced.

It was formed in 1974 from an amalgamation of Harold Malley Boys’ and Harold Cartwright Girls’ Grammar Schools.

In 2011 the school became an academy. The school was a specialist arts college for many years and still retains an emphasis towards the arts within the curriculum design.

We are supported by the Marjorie Willis Foundation – https://mwef.org.uk/
