Alderbrook School is delighted to report outstanding A Level results this summer and we would like to congratulate all our students.
The 2023 cohort has shown remarkable resilience over the last few years and have been awarded with very strong outcomes. It should also be noted that these students have sat examination for the first time and we are extremely proud of their efforts. Nearly 34% of all A Level grades at Alderbrook this year are A/A* and 67% of all grades are A*-B. Our students are now deservedly going onto a range of fantastic destinations in higher education, training and employment and we wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.
Those heading to university this September will be attending institutions across the UK, with a large number continuing to achieve places at ‘Russell Group’ universities, including: Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, York, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and Warwick. Reflecting the academic interests and talents of this year group, students will study a wide range of courses, from Politics to Aerospace Engineering; Medicine to Law; to Architecture and History of Art. We wish them all great success.
Honourable mentions go to William who achieved 1 A and 3 A* grades, William looks forward to joining The University of Manchester to study Physics, and Caitlin who achieved a phenomenal 2 A*s and 1A grade. Caitlin will be going on to study Materials Science at Mansfield College at Oxford University. James, Erin and Cobie are also to be applauded for their outstanding performance in achieving 2 A* grades. Our congratulations to the 10 students who all achieved a flush of A/A* grades across 3 or 4 A Level subjects. Special acknowledgement also goes to a number of students who all made significant progress from their KS4 starting point.
Alderbrook’s Headteacher, Tom Beveridge, said: “We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students. Despite missing the opportunity to sit external exams at GCSE, they have accomplished fantastic results in their first formal public exams. They have truly lived out the school values of Ambition, Bravery and Kindness, and we wish them all the very best in their onward study, training and employment. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto destinations of their choice, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
Frankie Bryan, Director of Sixth Form, said: “With all the news around results returning to pre-pandemic levels we are delighted that despite the sustained disruption student have faced, our leavers have been able to progress to higher education or apprenticeships of their choosing. This is testament to the close-knit community here at Alderbrook with committed students and staff working hard, fully supported by our parents and carers. Congratulations to you all!”
